Our story

The House of Bark was founded on a simple belief: that every pet deserves the best, regardless of their owner’s circumstances.

In 2024, my life and career reached a major turning point . After 27 years of secondary school teaching, I decided to leave my job and take The House of Bark full time. It was one of the best decisions I have ever made!

I knew that it was never going to be easy. I have to juggle so many different aspects of running a business on my own, such as being the owner, web designer, product buyer, social media expert and many more. If someone said to me that I would not be able to do it all on my own, well here is the proof that I can, and have built up the business from scratch. I fully believe that the skills that I developed as a teacher have definitely helped along the way, and not being afraid to ask for help when I need it.

Every aspect of this store is to ensure that my expertise can help pets and their owners across the UK. For me, this is proof that a new direction is always possible. I deeply understand that the cost of quality pet care can be a burden. My goal for The House of Bark is to ensure that professional-grade products are accessible to everyone. I am proud to have built collaborative relationships with industry leaders who share my commitment to pet safety and owner support.

I’ve always had a passion for pets and grew up in a household full of animals. More recently my journey has been spent with my own two dogs (Max & Bailey). They have helped me along the way, mainly as super taste testers for all the treats available.

We understand the joy our furry companions bring, and our curated selection reflects the care and dedication we have for every pet's well-being.
